PUBLIC RELATIONS

Why is Public Relations necessary for opera singers?

Do opera singers nowadays require marketing?

Competition among opera singers is becoming increasingly tough. The number of singers is increasing, whereas the performance possibilities in opera productions have stagnated or even declined. As a result of the subsequent surplus it is becoming increasingly difficult for opera singers to find an engagement or to maintain continuity in their career. This has lead to a reduction in salaries in this branch internationally.

The aim of Public Relations is: to increase the profile of the artists in Europe and the U.S.A to arrange meetings with members of the target group, e.g. Opera Houses, Festivals, CD-producers and opera magazines and to update them on a regular basis and thereby increase the likelihood of finding new engagements.

In consultation with your manager we will define relevant target groups (opera houses, festival directors, members of the press, CD-producers, ...), discuss the contents of the outgoing texts, as well as the best timing for the mailing. We also cover the costs of printing and postage.

The Paul Steinhauer Public Relation & Communications has been active in project management and involved in PR for opera and concerts since 1992 and is the first PR company, in co-operation with Volbi Music Ltd, to offer opera singers their own CD production with world-wide distribution.
